"Fantastic experience" - If you want peace and quiet, beautiful scenery, to meet interesting people, eat superb food, receive fantastic service all at a very reasonable price, then Hotel Bandolero in Juzcar is definately the place to go. I cannot speak too highly regarding my week long visit and to have my requested dessert made especially for me on the last night was definately the icing on the cake. Thank you David & Ivan for a wonderful stay. Best regards "The Los Riscos walk" - David and Ivan, I wanted to comment on the magnificent walk that is at the end of the easily drivable track that begins at the edge of town heading towards Cartijima. The contrast between the countryside that dominates the genal valley(sweet chestnut woodland) and this area is staggering. The walk starts at a car park and passes through impressive irregular rock formations. I witnessed Ibex and short toed eagles along the rock faces and birds of prey were continually passing overhead. The distance is 2.5km and is a must for the serious walker in addition to the other wonderful country side that abounds in the locality of your lovely hotel. El olor a alhucema y azahar del limonero (olfato), el sabor de la sopa veguera y los "miura" (gusto), el paisaje agreste y natural (vista), la escogida musica del bar que nos acompaña durante el desayuno y el aperitivo (oido), el tacto de las sabanas y el confort del edredon (tacto); pero lo mejor, el ambiente amable y familiar que consiguen crear sus dueños. Our second year running, returning to celebrate St Valentine. This year I booked the suite for three nights and the weather was very good making our stay even more enjoyable than last year. Once again the food and hospitality from Ivan and David was excellent. I have no hesitation in recommending the Hotel Bandolero, its a great break away from city life. Ernest - Gibraltar 13/02/2011

Dear David & Ivan, The village and surrounding mountains are truly astounding.... but! There is nothing to match the absolute majesty of Ivan's desserts, I will remember them forever. Dear David, I'm not sure what I will remember best, the birds, the dogs, the superb dinners, the white village walks in the rain & sunshine, the curving roads, the art, the conversation by the warming stove... it goes on and on. You have been a fabulous host with a fine eye and warm heart. Despite the bone chilling dampness of this el Niño season from hell, we will probably remember best only the things which are remarkable about this refuge in the mountains. A gem!
